Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhmi stressed the government's interest in supporting the work of the Ministry of Oil, because it is the icon of the Iraqi economy, and it is a great tributary of the state’s revenues, pointing to his keenness to visit and meet its national owners. This came during his visit to the Ministry of Oil building and his meeting with the leadership of the oil sector, and chaired a meeting with it.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that " Al-Kadhmi during his visit to the ministry made it clear that oil is a national wealth, and it must be developed according to modern technology, through the development of fields and optimal gas investment, as well as the development of refining industry to reduce the import of oil derivatives", indicating "Iraq is facing major economic challenges, especially with low oil prices, and reforms must be introduced to meet these challenges. Therefore, what is required from the national staff in the ministry is to make more efforts to overcome the economic crisis by providing financial liquidity to the Iraqi state treasury, and setting up a program to establish An investment fund for future generations.
