Joint Operations Command denied the terrorist groups control over Mubarak village in Khanaqin district, Diyala.
"There is no Daesh terrorist control over this village, but there was just an exposure from terrorist elements through shooting towards the village," said the spokesman for the Joint Ops, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The security forces chased terrorist elements towards the mountains,” al-Khafaji added.
Al-Khafaji explained that there are sleeper cells and they have broods, and as a result of the great pressure exerted by the security forces on these gangs, they have no options but to surrender or carry out terrorist operations in order to survive.
