The Joint Operations Command confirmed on Sunday that the intelligence information of the leadership broke the Daesh terrorist gang in Hamrin’s Mountains.

The spokesman for the leadership, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Since the start of the heroic operations of Iraq in its first stage, it was clearly dependent on the intelligence efforts," noting that "before carrying out any operation the intelligence information that was obtained is analyzed." He pointed out that "the killing of 39 Daesh operatives a few days ago by the anti-terror apparatus indicates that the intelligence effort that was mobilized in this operation is effective and very important," noting that "the results of the operation demonstrated the ability of the security forces to break the thorn of terrorism." He pointed out that "Daesh elements always exploit winding and rugged lands, so we see that they are present in the Hamriya mountain range and the Khanoka chain."

It is noteworthy that the anti-terrorist agency pledged to continue tracing the remnants of the Daesh terrorist gangs, confirming the killing of the legal mufti of terrorist gangs in Salah al-Din Governorate.

A statement issued by the agency, which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that the second Special Operations Forces, one of the formations of the anti-terrorist forces, carried out a qualitative operation by airdropping terrorists ’dens, and engaged them in a battle that lasted for several hours.
