Davos forum launched with 3,000 attendees

    The World Economic Forum kicked off today, Tuesday, in Davos, Switzerland, with the participation of 3,000 leaders and executives from some 117 countries.

    Forum work continues until next Friday, and "Davos" celebrates this year the 50th anniversary of its establishment. One of the main topics that the participants will discuss is how to face the crisis that is ravaging the global economy without causing negative impacts on the environment.

    This year, the Russian delegation will be represented by Minister of Economic Development Maxim Orishkin, and it includes the Director General of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dimitriev.

    Among the participants in the summit are US President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyne.

    Austrian Prime Minister Sebastian Kurtz, his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and other leaders, heads of state and politicians will also participate in the summit.
