Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi stressed the need for joint action to implement the withdrawal of foreign forces.

This came during his meeting with the US ambassador to Iraq Matthew Toller where they discussed and the updates of events and the position of the Iraqi government, according to a statement by the media office received by Iraqi News Agency INA.

Abdul Mahdi stressed the need for joint action to implement the withdrawal of foreign forces in accordance with the decision of the Iraqi parliament and to put the relations with the United States on correct foundations.

He stressed the seriousness of the current situation and its possible repercussions, indicating that Iraq is making all possible efforts to prevent the slide into an open war.

Abdul Mahdi pointed to the consistent policy pursued by the government to establish relations with all and not to take any sides and that the strength of the Iraqi government is in the interest of everyone, stressing that Iraq is keen on its relations based on cooperation and mutual respect and preserving its security, stability and national sovereignty.
