KPD: Ongoing differences around the elections law

Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party – KDP Vian Sabri confirmed the continuation of disagreements over the contentious items in the election law.

“KDP is coordinating with other political blocs to vote on elections law that meets the needs of the current political reality on one hand, and establishes fair and satisfactory elections for the demands of the people and based on the principle of equal opportunities on the other," said Sabri in a statement to Iraqi News Agency – INA.

She explained that the contentious points about the form of the electoral district are still standing.

Sabri also called on all parties to “look to the interests of the people and the stability of the country, something that can only be achieved through free and fair elections"
