The head of the caretaker government Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi confirmed that any weakening of the government and the state would encourage escalation and chaos.
A statement of the Prime Minister's Information Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency that Abdul-Mahdi received a phone call from the US Defense Secretary Mark Esber and dealt with the continued cooperation between the two countries against terrorism and support the efforts of the joint forces to pursue Daesh remnants and maintain security and stability throughout Iraq.
The statement indicated that the American minister expressed his concern that some installations were subjected to bombing and the need to take measures to stop this, noting that Abdul-Mahdi also expressed his concern for these developments and demanded that serious efforts be made in which everyone participated in order to prevent the escalation that would threaten all parties, Any weakening of the government and the Iraqi state will encourage escalation and chaos.
And Abdul-Mahdi warned that taking unilateral decisions will have negative reactions that are difficult to control and threaten the security, sovereignty and independence of Iraq.
