INA – BAGHDAD
President Barham Salih asserted on Sunday that the presidency will present a new law of elections project to the parliament, next week.
This came during a meeting between the president and the heads of the syndicates and organizations, on Sunday.
Salih listened to the points of views of the attendees regarding the current situations in the country and the main demands of the protesters to find a way to fulfil it and that such situation is a key to reform the political process in the country.
“The new law of elections will be completed and delivered to the parliament during this week. The new law guarantees the respect of electors opinions and offers justice in terms of competing for a membership in the parliament as well as changing the electoral commission to another one that is fair and professional in addition to being visible and away from politicization and party loyalties,” said President Salih.
