Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbousi saidthat the stability of Iraq is an important factor for the stability of the region. His office said in a statement received that the Speaker of the House of Representatives received Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Erna Solberg to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.
He added that Halbousi welcomed the Norwegian Prime Minister to visit Baghdad after the victory over the terrorist Daesh and appreciated Norway's contribution with the international coalition to support Iraq during its war against terrorism, which targeted the whole world.Iraq is looking forward to a long-term future partnership with Norway, the statement quoted Halbousi as saying. This requires strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries and opening an embassy for Norway in the country, as well as activating the Iraqi-Norwegian friendship committees.
He called for joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including investment and benefiting from the expertise of Norwegian companies in construction and reconstruction, and contribute to the efforts to return the displaced, and to achieve stability, and continued cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
