PM Abdul Mahdi meets US Assistant Secretary of State to discuss Syria updates

INA – BAGHDAD

PM Adel Abdul Mahdi met the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker to discuss the recent update sin Syria and the region.

The two discussed the latest updates in Syria and the region and the role of Iraq in this regard.

PM Abdul Mahdi explained that the government is responding to the protests’ demands and making reforms in addition to the work of the investigative committee that were formed about the events occurred during the protests.

“Some attempted to change the peaceful pretext of the protests and use it,” added Abdul Mahdi.
