Iraqi Security Forces and the ‘Popular Mobilization Units’, or Hashd, launched on Tuesday stage 5 of operation ‘Will of Victory’ to search and clear areas north of Karbala governorate and south of Anbar governorate.
A statement by Hashd, a copy of which received by INA, announced that ‘the security forces, under air support from military helicopters and Iraqi air force jet fighters, continued its advance for the second day of operation ‘Will of Victory’- stage 5- to search the Anbar desert south of the international highway running along Karbala and Najaf governorates and reaching the Iraqi-Saudi borders, in addition to securing the administrative boundaries of five governorates: Najaf, Karbala, Baghdad, Diyala, and Anbar.
Operation ‘Will of Victory’ –stage 5- in the Anbar desert was launched on Monday under directions from the Commander in Chief and supervised by the Joint Operations Command into areas to the south of the International Highway running along the Karbala and Najaf governorates down to the Iraqi-Saudi borders.
