Iraqi First Vice President Hassan Karim al-Kaabi on Tuesday welcomed FIFA's decision to approve Iraq's request for the World Cup qualifiers in Basra, praising their rapid response to requests, including his official address earlier this month.
According to a statement issued by the media office received Kaabi praised the sports related movement made during the period prior to Iraq to get his right to play the World Cup qualifiers in Basra, stressing that this historic decision was the result of the combined efforts of local sports and Asian.
Kaabi called for intensifying all efforts concerned to lift the ban on all Iraqi stadiums.Earlier this month, Al Kaabi addressed FIFA President Gianni Infantino, calling for a total lifting of the embargo on Iraq and allowing him to host Arab and international football teams at home and among his fans.
