PRESIDENT SALIH RECEIVES THE US SENATE DELEGATION

 His Excellency received the US Dem Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Sen. Johnny Isakson, and Sen. Angus King, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Mission in Iraq Joey Hood attended the meeting too.
During a meeting, the President stressed the need for the two countries to play a key role in stabilizing the region and achieving peace and prosperity for its peoples.
President Salih lauded the United States’ role within the international coalition against terrorism.
For their part, the members of the visiting delegation reiterated the United States’ standing by Iraq and support for the country, as people and Government to achieve aspirations, stability, prosperity, and restoration of its role in the region and the world.
