Al-Kadhimi , Raisi discuss strengthening bilateral relations

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed on Sunday, with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, and the development of means of cooperation in various fields.

    "Al-Kadhimi met Raisi today Sunday, at the start of his official visit to Tehran, which he arrived this afternoon from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and the development of means of cooperation in various fields, as well as they discussed the most important regional files of common interest, which involve issues related to the security of the two neighboring countries and the stability of the region,” the media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    "During the meeting, they emphasized supporting the armistice in Yemen and strengthening efforts to establish peace there, as well as stressing that a peaceful solution to the crisis should reflect the will of the Yemenis," the statement added. 

    The Iranian president praised Iraq's role, and its efforts in converging views and establishing calm in the region, which would enhance its regional and international role.
