Nasiriyah oil-field development project will revive the local economy in Dhi Qar, Oil Minister says

Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail confirmed today, Tuesday, that the project to develop Nasiriyah oil field will revive the local economy in Dhi Qar province.
 
Oil Ministry’s media office said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar met the senior managers of Chevron Corporation, represented by Messrs. Jay Pryor and Clay Neff, on the sidelines of his participation in the CERAWEEK 2022 energy conference, which organized by Information and Insights Corporation (HIS Markit in Houston, Texas) for the period from March 7-11.
 
 During the meeting, Abdul-Jabbar discussed with Chevron the development of Nasiriyah oil field, affirming the ministry keenness to develop the oilfields to enhance the Iraqi economical capabilities.
 
Abdul-Jabbar also emphasized that the meeting with Chevron came to see their procedures and the advanced steps achieved in the agreement with Dhi Qar Oil Company regarding the development of e Nasiriyah oil field and the construction of the oil and gas production infrastructure. "
This project will contribute to revive the local economy of the province, in addition to develop the national economy of Iraq, he added.
 
It’s to be mentioned that CERAWEEK 2022 conference is held annually to discuss topics related to climate, technical cleanliness, energy and gas transition projects, geology, economics, markets, energy and renewables, UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM projects. The conference is attended by ministers, experts concerned with energy, oil and gas, and economists.
