Foreign Ministry: China decided to send 200 thousand doses of Corona vaccine to Iraq

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Friday that the Chinese government decided to send an additional 200,000 doses of the Corona vaccine to Iraq.
    In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the media office of the ministry stated, "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, during a call that brought them together, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them after reaching the stage of controlling the Coronavirus pandemic."
    Hussein expressed, according to the statement, his thanks and appreciation for the positions of the Chinese government and people in support of Iraq throughout the course of relations between the two countries, the last of which was the granting of the Iraqi people (50,000) thousand doses of the Corona vaccine.
    For his part, the Chinese Foreign Minister stressed that "it is the duty of the Chinese people to support the friendly Iraqi people," noting that "the Chinese government has decided to send (200,000) thousand doses in the coming period to Iraq as an additional donation for what was previously sent."
    And that "the demand for the vaccine is very large, whether from within China or from other countries. Nevertheless, we are ready to meet the requirements of the Iraqi people."
