The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed that there are unremitting efforts by the armed forces to hold the borders with the Syrian side.
Major General Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday: "The security forces are working hard and perseverance, and there is follow-up and guidance from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the necessity to hold the borders, especially with the Syrian side."
He added, "The security forces focus their pre-emptive operations on areas of northeastern Syria, as they do not contain regular forces of the Syrian army, but rather there are many terrorist groups."
