Today, Friday, the Baghdad Police Command confirmed that mobile teams are in charge of protecting the UNHCR stores and offices.
Baghdad Police Commander Major General Majid Al-Mousawi said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News Channel, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is a higher committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Police Affairs, Imad Muhammad Mahmoud, whose mission is to secure protection for the upcoming elections."
Moussawi added, "The police command continues to secure protection for the UNHCR warehouses and offices located throughout Baghdad," stressing that "mobile teams are responsible for protecting the UNHCR's warehouses and offices in coordination with the Baghdad Operations Command."
