Major General Khalaf announces the departure of the French forces from Iraqi territory

 The spokesman of the Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf, announced today, Wednesday, that the French forces will leave the Iraqi territories.

 Khalaf told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the French forces left the Iraqi territories and evacuated an air base by the international coalition."

 Major General Khalaf said, "The departure of the French forces comes in accordance with the agreements that took place with the Iraqi government."

 Iraqi forces formally took over the base of al-Qaim, on the border with Syria, after the withdrawal of the international coalition forces
