Basra operations enhance the protection of oil fields and facilities

    Basra operations began today, Tuesday, the first phase of security reinforcements near the oil fields.

    Basra Operations Commander Lieutenant-General Qassem Nazzal said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The leadership has embarked on the first stage to strengthen the security presence near oil fields and installations in the areas of Al-Sweib and Majnoon field."

    It is noteworthy that the Basra operations, announced earlier to take security measures to protect oil installations. They also explained that these measures will be discussed during the coming period with the relevant authorities and security managers in the oil companies, especially that it strengthens and enhances the security aspects of the oil installations.

    The Basra Operations Commander, Lt. Gen. Qasim Nazzal, had announced earlier that security measures were taken to protect oil installations, while confirming the implementation of orders issued to reduce tribal disputes in the province.

    In a statement to Iraqi News Agency (INA), Nazzal said: The oil fields and installations in Basra Governorate constitute the backbone of the Iraqi economy and one of the most important resources that deal with security aspects, pointing out that the leadership has taken several future security measures to protect oil installations.
