The Committee on Agriculture, Water and Parliament announced that Iraq is going ahead with self-sufficiency in all agricultural crops and livestock.
The head of the committee, Deputy Salam Al-Shammari, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The obstacles facing the Ministry of Agriculture have been identified by the agricultural committee, and these are the outlets. There are unofficial outlets from the Kurdistan region and the border provinces."
He pointed out that "the Parliamentary Committee addressed the Cabinet in an official letter, but no action was taken to curb the illegal smuggling and illegal import."
He pointed out that "the symposium that was held came to activate and support the national product after the House of Representatives decided to protect the national product."
