    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed the vote to announce a group of sites as national reserves within the draft of the national strategy for biological diversity.

    A ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "this came during the presidency of the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Environment Jassim Abdul Aziz Al-Falahi, the work of the first session of the Federal Environment Protection and Improvement Council for the year 2020 in the presence of a number of general managers in the ministry and representatives of the relevant authorities and all members of the Council."

    Al-Falahi said, according to the statement, that the agenda of the meeting was discussed with the members of the Council and through which a group of sites as national reserves, which were Lake Sawa, Hadania, Al-Rifaiya and Faidhah Al-Zahra, were voted to be investment and tourist areas and an important center for scientific research for those interested in wildlife and preserving biological diversity from Species of birds, wild animals, and fishes. "

    He pointed out that "during the meeting, the issue of abuses of water resources and coordination was also resolved, and this file was ended with follow-up and implementation of strict laws with the cooperation of all concerned authorities."
