Al-Maliki to Hickey: Iraq refuses to expose its lands

The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, during his meeting with the British Ambassador to Baghdad, Stephen Hickey discussed the developments of the political and security situations and the escalation taking place in Iraq and the region.

Al-Maliki affirmed, according to a statement of his office, received by the Iraqi News Agency that Iraq refuses to be exposed to its lands and cannot be tolerated towards any practice that leads to a violation of its sovereignty.  He stressed Iraq’s keenness that its relations be based on cooperation, mutual respect, preserving its security, stability and national sovereignty. In turn, the British ambassador expressed his country's readiness to support all efforts aimed at calming the atmosphere and removing crises from Iraq and the region.
