Electricity Ministry: a plan to rehabilitate the extracted gas fields for power generation

Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Electricity confirmed that it has developed a plan in coordination with the ministries of oil and water resources to rehabilitate the gas fields extracted with national oil for power generation.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Moussa, told the Iraqi News Agency that the ministry, in cooperation with the ministries of oil and water resources, and through the Ministerial Energy Council is working on a fuel plan that includes solid commercial coalitions with major international companies that will qualify the gas fields extracted with national oil to operate stations Generating electrical energy instead of relying on external sources, noting that importing gas from Iran is limited and my time until the end of the fuel plan, which needs a three-year time limit until its completion.

The Ministry of Electricity earlier offered its apology to the citizens for the low hours of electric power supply during the past days due to the interruption of the gas pipeline supplied by the Iranian side and allocated to electrical stations in the central region for the existence of maintenance work for the gas pipeline inside Iranian territory.
