Al-Kaabi calls on MOFA and Martyrs Foundation to make international agreements

    Deputy Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Hassan al-Kaabi met the head of International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) and discussed the creation of the National Center for Missing Persons and Forced Disappearance.

    Both have also discussed the latest activities of the organization and its cooperation with the mass graves department of the Martyrs Foundation in a number of governorates

    During the meeting, al-Kaabi stressed that the specialized international organizations provided a great benefit to Iraq, especially in some of the files that international technical expertise and capabilities were needed including the mass graves that ICMP was keen to make unremitting efforts to help the local authorities in achieving great rates

    “Work is still going on in many cities, because of the magnitude of the tragedy that the Iraqi people experienced in light of dictatorial regimes and many wars,” said al-Kaabi.

    Al-Kaabi called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Martyrs' Foundation and other departments to invest in supporting international organizations and enhances mutual cooperation legally, by concluding bilateral agreements in addition to the necessity of dealing with this file from a humanitarian point of view, not in a political way.
