The President of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, stressed today the need to accelerate the selection of a socially and politically acceptable Prime Minister.
A statement of Al-Hakim's office received by the Iraqi News Agency said: Al-Hakim during his meeting with the new European Union ambassador in Baghdad, Martin Hotsen, discussed developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region and the relations between Iraq and the European Union.
The statement pointed out that Al-Hakim renewed his supportive position to implement the legitimate demands of peaceful protesters and to proceed with the reform project, which has become an inevitable necessity, stressing the need to protect and fortify the demonstrations from the infiltrators and those trying to deflect their peaceful path to achieve special goals.
He stressed the importance of expediting the selection of an independent figure acceptable socially and politically, characterized by courage and integrity and able to manage the transitional government and prepare for early elections.
