Parliamentary Culture Committee discusses activating tourism investments

The Committee on Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the House of Representatives discussed with the head of the Tourism Authority of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities tourism investments and how to activate them, and ways to increase financial revenues to support the state treasury.

A statement by the committee received by that it stressed during the hosting of the President of the Tourism Authority Hamoud al-Yacoubi, the need to pay attention to the reality of tourism through holding workshops in preparation for a general conference in the House of Representatives adopted by the Committee to develop the reality of tourism in the country. He added that the meeting discussed the reasons for the decline in revenues from 2014 and future plans for the Authority and increase institutes and colleges of tourism and hotels, and the announcement of investment projects in order to provide jobs for the unemployed and lift this vital sector from the recession.
