Following is the text of the Prime Minister's statement, a copy of which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):

I pay tribute to the millions of faithful Iraqis and non-Iraqis who are heading to the holy province of Karbala to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his companions from the martyrs of the eternal battle of Taff. Volunteers and processions protecting citizens and providing medical and food services along the roads leading to the holy city of Karbala from all over Iraq and the world.

The million participation in the path of the martyr of reform means that our Iraqi people are a free people, a living people that cannot be deceived or insulted. This great popular, security and service effort exerted in this visit comes in conjunction with an ongoing national and governmental effort to reform and build, meet the legitimate demands of our people, face corruption and fight it, and recover the rights and funds of the people, whatever the difficulties and challenges.
