    The Group of Seven G7 industrialized nations pledged $ 20 million in emergency aid to combat the horrific fires in the Amazon forest in Brazil.On Monday, Chilean President Sebastian Pinera and French President Emmanuel Macron announced at the summit of the leaders of the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Britain and Canada in Biarritz.

    As a second step, Amazon is scheduled to launch an Amazon initiative at the UN General Assembly, Macron said, adding that the initiative will revolve around reforestation.Macron put the issue of Amazon wildfires on the summit agenda at the last minute before it was held.

    Forest fires, the most severe in years, are on fire. According to data from the Brazilian Space Agency INBE, the number of fires has risen 83 percent since the beginning of this year compared to the same time period last year.
