Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali al-Hakim met with Jan Kland, Secretary-General of the Norwegian Refugee Council.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry said that the tasks undertaken by the Council in supporting and alleviating the suffering of the refugees were discussed and Al-Hakim praised Kland’s efforts to provide relief services.
It is important to support the work of the Council and strengthen its role in order to maintain its capacity to carry out its responsibilities, Al- Hakim said.
Al-Hakim stressed that "Iraq is doing all it can to participate to raising the level of Iraqi women through the adoption of programs for women.
