Parliament speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi received on Wednesday a delegation from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Including Sen. Mitt Romney of the Republican Party, Senator Chris Murphy of the Democratic Party with the presence of US Charge d'affaires in Iraq, Joe Hood.
The two sides discussed the continuation of security cooperation between Baghdad and Washington, to eliminate the cells of Daesh terrorist, and to provide assistance for return of the displaced people to liberated areas, the media office said in a statement.
Al-Halbousi also calls on the American companies to enter Iraq and participating to reconstructing of infrastructure for liberated or underserved areas.
For his part, the American delegation said that the United States looks forward to Iraq as a strong and prosperous partner to play its regional role, stressing their country's support for Iraq in all fields.
