President of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi received on Thursday the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq Paul Gibard and the Director of the Middle East Department of Foreign Affairs, Shan Boyd, in the presence of representatives of the liberated areas.
The two sides discussed the activation of the bilateral relations between the two countries, the support of the Canadian government for Iraq's security and stability file, as well as the activation of the reconstruction of liberated cities and the return of the displaced to their areas, as well as mechanisms to promote the status of Iraqi women.
Al-Halbousi stressed the need to continue efforts of the International Coalition and the NATO mission in support of the Iraqi government, to continue its war against terrorism and eliminate it, and provide the necessary intelligence and technical support for the Iraqi forces .
