Deputy Prime Minister for Energy/ Minister of Oil- Thamir Ghadhban stressed on Sunday the federal government's attention to Kirkuk; the security stability and service development there. Ghadhban said, (in a visit to Kirkuk as head of a large ministerial delegation): “the delegation came at the direction of PM Adil Abdul-Mahdi; to observe the conditions at Kirkuk Province. What concerns the government is that Kirkuk would be in the best of conditions; in services and security stability”.
He added: “the government supports Kirkuk to build the ability of implementing projects and providing services to the citizens. The delegation will hold intensive meetings and listen to what will be
presented by the governor, the provincial council, and parliamentary representatives of the province. Necessary and important issues will be discussed, legitimate requests will be met, and we will follow up what is agreed upon”.
On his side Kirkuk Governor Rakan AL- Jubouri welcomed the delegation’s visit; thanking the Federal Government’s initiative to view the reality of the province, and present support in reconstruction and stabilization. The delegation includes- Ministers of Electricity and Water Resources, Undersecretary of Interior Ministry, the Coordination Committee between the federal government and the provinces’ Secretary, a number of undersecretaries and general managers of service departments in the ministries.
