Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Saturday that Iraq and Iran have historical ties and stand together to face challenges.

We are determined to stand together against any threat against our countries or any countries in the region.
Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said that the discussions with the Prime Minister focused on the mechanisms of implementation of the agreements concluded between the two countries.
They discussed the export of electricity, connect the electrical grid, gas pipelines between the two countries and discuss the agreement to build three industrial cities in Iraq.
He added that after the month of Ramadan will railway link between the city of Shalamjah and Basra.
