Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Saturday that Iraq and Iran have historical ties and stand together to face challenges.
We want to make our developed relationship with Iran a role model for Iraq's relations with the countries of the region, he said during a joint news conference with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iraq is more stable and peaceful.They are determined to stand together against any threat against the two countries or any of the countries in the region.
In turn, Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said that discussions with the Iraqi Prime Minister focused on the mechanisms of implementation of the agreements concluded between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim on Thursday discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi coordination regional and international issues.
