Salih Discusses with Jeffrey James Bilateral Relations and the Arab and Regional Situations

    President Barham Salih discussed with the US Special Presidential Envoy of the International Coalition on Monday the bilateral relations, as well as the Arab and regional situations.

    A statement by the Presidency, copy of which was received by INA, mentioned also that Salih received in Sulaimania Jeffrey James, the US Special Presidential Envoy of the International Anti-Terrorism Coalition with the accompanying delegation.   

    The statement explained that the meeting involved reviewing the latest political and security developments on Arab and Regional levels, stressing the importance of achieving peace and stability and as well as reaching solutions for the crises and conflicts raging in the region.

    The Iraqi President emphasized too Iraq’s keenness on broadening the prospects of mutual cooperation between Iraq and US in all fields, as well as the importance of coordination between the two sides in relation with the latestpolitical and securitydevelopments, stressing too that Iraq builds relations with its brothers and friends on the basis of realizing topmost national interests.

    Salih also praised US assistance to Iraq in every field, particularly the war against terrorism and its support in the reconstruction of destroyed areas.

    On his part Jeffrey renewed his country’s intent on continuing its support for Iraq and helping it to achieve progress and rise in every field to take its pioneering role in the region. Jeffery hailed too the victory achieved against ISIS terrorist gangs.
