Maliki discusses Baghdad – Tehran relations with Rouhani

    The State of Law Coalition Head Noori Maliki discussed today with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani the bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing them to serve the interests of the two neighboring countries.

    A statement issued by the media office of the State of Law Coalition Head said both sides discussed the future of the mutual relations, as well as the regional status and the challenges the region faces.

    Maliki referred that both Iraq and Iran could play an important role in supporting and laying down stability in the region, calling for more cooperation and coordination on all aspects, and especially in politics and economy, the statement showed.

    From his side, Rouhani confirmed the readiness of his country to develop its relations with Iraq in all fields, explaining that Iraq’s stability and security is a big concern of the Iranian Government, the statement concluded.
