Salih: religious and national diversity is strength element we should protect

Iraq’s President, Barham Salih, asserted on Sunday, on the importance of consolidating the coexistence and the respect of diversity of the Iraqi society which is the guarantee to confront all radicalism.

A statement by the President’s media office which INA received a copy of said that Salih stressed, during his reception at Al-Salam Palace, Patriarch Gorges III, on the importance of the peaceful coexistence among various religions and sectors to enhance national cohesion, lauding the Christians’  steadfastness to confront terrorists that reflect their national and human  adherence.

The statement added that Salih pointed out that the Takfiris , in their hostile attitude did not target a specific religion or sector, but they targeted all components and religions, and that the religious diversity is an element of strength that we have to protect.
