President of the Republic Barham Salih opened the Baghdad International Book Fair.
The events of the Baghdad International Book Fair were launched today with the participation of (650) publishing houses and 23 foreign and Arab countries, which are distributed among the participants, the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency said.
More than two million books and more than 10,000 square meters have been reserved for the Baghdad International Book Fair, adding that the exhibition was sponsored by the Iraqi Media Network.
The Baghdad Book Fair is one of the annual events taking place in the capital Baghdad from 1978 until now.
Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi agreed Saturday to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries.
President of the Republic Barham Salih received on Saturday a cable of condolence from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the tragedy of the sinking of the ferry in the Tigris River in the city of Mosul.
