The President Barham Salih praised today on his speech in the opening ceremony of the Baghdad International Book Fair the decision of tax exemption on the imported books, calling at the same time to face the extremist thought by moderate thought.
Salih said in his speech that the Political life in Iraq is in an important transformational stage, showing that Baghdad had contributed in making civilization, and it was a minaret for creativity.
The President added that books and educated people represent an essential part of Baghdad’s life, expressing his solidarity with the publishers in the difficulties that they face.
Salih also expressed his compliments to all participating publishers in Baghdad International Book Fair.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to increase electricity production and stability during the coming summer and to fulfill the ministry's commitments to improve the electrical system.
