Hassan Kareem Al Kaabi asked the IHEC to strive to improve the level of performance and preserve its independence and impartiality, calling on them to restore the confidence of the citizen in the electoral process and build bridges of trust with different people to contribute to the preservation of the democratic and electoral process.
This came during his visit to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in the presence of the Chairman of the Legal Committee of Parliament, Sheikh Ali and a number of members of the Council, as they were received by the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners, and the Director of the Electoral District.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to the preliminary preparations for the provincial council elections on November 16 and the support of the legislative authority for the work of the Commission and the success of the electoral process.
The two sides agreed to ask the government to provide the necessary inputs and procedures for the forthcoming elections of local governments.
