Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammed Ali al-Hakeem and the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abu al-Gheit discussed several issues of mutual interest, especially the future role that Iraq will be making in the Arab League.
This came during the mutual meeting of the Foreign Ministers and the ministers concerned with the economic and social preparatory council of the Arab Economic, Development and Social Fourth Summit.
The discussion included the candidacy of few Iraqi figures to hire positions inside the League.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to increase electricity production and stability during the coming summer and to fulfill the ministry's commitments to improve the electrical system.
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi received on Wednesday the chief executive of the British Petroleum Group, Bob Dudley, who expressed the company's desire to work in Iraq and his admiration for plans to stabilize and develop the economy.
Iraq's representative to the United Nations Mohammad Bahr al-Ulum said the government's success in providing salaries for all employees in 2019, including Peshmerga fighters.
Kuwait's ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Mansour al-Otaibi, reiterated Wednesday his country's full support for Iraq.
