Halabousi receives Iranian Foreign Minister

President of the House of Representatives Mohammad received on Monday Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and his accompanying delegation.

Al Halabousi pointed out that Iraq is keen to be a meeting point between the countries, and that its relations are open and parallel with the neighbouring countries and the region within the principle of respect for sovereignty and good neighbourliness and mutual interests, the Information Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency .

He called on Halabousi to activate cooperation between Iraq and Iran in the files of common interest, especially the water issue that affected the Iraqi citizens last summer, stressing that "the need to end this file, as well as cooperation in the field of energy.
