The Iraqi Presidency assured today (Wednesday) that President Barham Salih will discuss with Prince Tamim bin Hamad of Qatar many issues during his visit to Doha on Thursday; those being- developing the marine, land, and air transport; investing on Iraq’s location to link the Gulf countries with those of the Mediterranean and Europe’s, among other security and political topics.
Spokesman of the Iraqi Presidency, Luqman Al-Feili, said to Ina today: “Dr. Barham Salih’s visit to Qatar comes within Iraq’s moves to strengthen the relations with the Arab and regional environment, and to complement prior visits to Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Important and fundamental issues shall be discussed; contributing to develop marine, land, and air transport; investing on Iraq’s location to link the Gulf countries with those of the Mediterranean and Europe”.
Al-Feili added: “In the visit the Syrian file will be discussed, in light of the changes in the region; along with Iraq’s internal conditions, the reconstruction of Iraq, and the importance of Arab contribution to rehabilitate the liberated cities, the investment projects with open doors to all friends, to develop Iraq’s economy, enable the empowering of the private sector and encouraging investment”. He also said: “The security coordination and fighting terrorism will also be topics in the president’s meeting with Prince Tamim bin Hamad. The president stressed the importance of a comprehensive Arab- regional dialogue to end all conflicts in the region; especially with the importance of Iraq’s strategic location to bring countries closer”.
