Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim said that Iraq's firm stance on the Palestinian issue, based on the 2002 Arab peace initiative, was reaffirmed at the Arab Summit in Baghdad 2012.

We have recently issued some statements and news circulated by the media and social networking platforms about the foreign minister's statement on Iraq's position on the Palestinian issue and the two-state solution. In this regard, we would like to show that what has been circulated is a negation of reality

Al Hakim said in a press statement that Iraq's firm position on the Palestinian issue, based on the 2002 Arab peace initiative, which was reaffirmed at the Arab Summit in Baghdad 2012 (Baghdad Declaration), is reflected in the continued support for the return of the Palestinian territories usurped by the Kia And the support of the efforts of the Palestinian Authority in international conferences and forums in Geneva and New York directly from the Minister when he was a permanent representative of Iraq in both locations, where the minister worked in the Human Rights Council, and through the seventh item of the agenda, which examines the Palestinian issue, Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and demand accountability for the perpetrators of these crimes against unarmed civilians
