President Barham Salih received Dr. Omar al-Razaz the Jordanian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
During the meeting, His Excellency underscored the importance of enhancing ties of brotherhood and developing constructive cooperation between Iraq and Jordan, notably as the two countries are associated with historical relations.
The President indicated Iraq's keenness to promote bilateral relations and raise them to the level that achieves the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
President Salih asserted the need to consolidate the foundations of peace and stability in the region, and the necessity to avoid the futility of wars and conflicts that deplete human and material energies, and to rely on the language of serious and frank dialogue to tackle all crises.
His Excellency discussed with Jordanian Prime Minister broadening bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, trade and energy, as well as discussing strategic projects in a manner that achieves the economic integration.
At the end of the meeting, President Salih asked Dr. al-Razaz to convey His Excellency’s greetings to King Abdullah II the Jordanian monarch and his wishes of success for His Majesty and for the brotherly Jordanian people further progress and development.
For his part, Dr. Omar al-Razzaz expressed his great pleasure in meeting with the President Barham Salih. He reiterated the Kingdom's stance in support of Iraq in all fields, expressing his country's readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of liberated cities.
Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim on Thursday discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi coordination regional and international issues.
