The Supreme Security Committee for Elections held its periodic meeting at the headquarters of the Independent High Electoral Commission headed by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari.
A statement of the committee received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "during the meeting, a number of issues related to the work of the committee were discussed, including listening to briefings made by officials of the sub-committees, including field, media and intelligence."
Al-Shammari stressed "the importance of redoubling efforts and overcoming obstacles that hinder the work of the committees, in order to prepare for a solid security base that guarantees the security of the voter and the electoral process in general."
