The administrative body of the Iraqi Swimming Federation decided today, Sunday, to change the name of the federation to the Iraqi Swimming and Water Games Federation.
The head of the Iraqi Swimming Federation, Khaled Kabian, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the administrative body decided to change the name of the federation to the Iraqi Federation for Swimming and Water Games," noting that "this decision was taken during the meeting of the administrative body of the federation because the federation sponsors Four games (Olympic swimming, open water swimming, diving into water, and water polo).
He added, "The International and Asian Federations were addressed to approve this decision, as well as informing the relevant stakeholders, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Iraqi Olympic Committee."
